Women’s EntrePreneurship initiative

The Women’s Entrepreneurship Initiative (WEI) knows that innovation and entrepreneurship are catalysts for economic growth, and when a woman is empowered, an entire community is empowered. That’s why WEI creates opportunities for aspiring business owners through collaborative cohorts, community outreach, educational workshops and mentorship engagement.

This year, WEI launched “Why Atlanta,” a podcast that provides insight for female founders considering Atlanta as a place to grow their business. It also created “Startup Sprints,” a series of workshops, conversations and resources to help women entrepreneurs manage early-stage pain points, build networks and address marketing, operational and financial questions.

WEI Highlights

600+: Jobs contributed to Atlanta

$6,344,860: Annual revenue, WEI Cohorts 5 and 6

$1,097,200: Capital investments accumulated by WEI founders

361: New jobs created by WEI Cohort 5 and 6 businesses

WEI supports and celebrates the strategic role female founders have in driving economic growth within Atlanta, including the 14 talented women business owners of Cohort 5, themed HERMove, who collectively created 252 jobs and generated $879,000 in capital investments in 2023. They’re just getting started.

Atlanta has all the perfect ingredients for women-owned startups to thrive. We structure tangible opportunities for women entrepreneurs to leverage the city’s burgeoning entrepreneurial ecosystem and challenge them to think – and grow – bigger.
